Week 1 Production Log

What have you contributed this week?

In this week we had to present are music video presentations to the class which we had been planning for a few week before. I did not find this hard because I am not shy of public speaking, but getting my actually idea across was a bit hard, but I made a slideshow very clear show the audience could understand my idea better. we also did a feedback video which along with the presentation we had to go onto are blogs, which I have already posted.
After this we had to get into groups of two. This did not take very long for me and my partner because we both came to a decision together and just said we are working together. So once we where in groups we have to make a group rational video. This is a video about me and my partner and how we came about choosing a music video to stick to. This was harder than we expected, because it felt very wired talking to each other in front of the camera without anyone else in the room. We had to re shoot this about 4 times because he kept on stopping and laughing. But we over came this by already knowing what we were going to say on some questions.
We also then had to start of a brief plan for out music video. This was a plan on what we wanted to happen in each chorus and verse. We did not get a lot done on the first day on planning because we was thinking of lots of ideas we could put in are music video and kind of went of track.

Break up of music video verse.

How does this fit in with the production schedule/job roles/overall ideas of the project?

we have not yet made a production schedule, because we have not yet started to film, but we are not behind on any work, and we are right where we should be. We have not yet given each other a clear job role because we have not started to film yet, but due to past experience I would mostly taken the role as main camera man. For are overall ideas of the project we are both certain for the location and actors in we want to be in are music video.

Were there any problems?

This week we did not have any problems due to the fact that what we had to do was very clear, and we both get along very well together.

How did you/will you overcome them?
Because there was not problems in week 1 we did not have to overcome any thing. But if there was we would probably just sit down and talk about them and find ways to overcome them.

What are the plans for the following week?
Next week we are going to start are pre-planning and carry on working on are shooting scripts. By the end of next we hope to be close to finishing are shooting scripts

Pitch PowerPoint

Music Video Pitch Feedback

Music Video Pitch/ Reflection

Pitch Reflection
1.Are there any areas of your presentation you would like to give any more detail on?
One area I would give more detail on if I had the chance would be my star persona and brand identity. This is because I fell as if I did not let my audience fully understand how I wanted my artist to be represented throughout the music video. Also I would of given more detail on my schedule slide. This is because I didn't let my audience fully know what I was going to do on each day and of filming and, what locations I would of went to on each day. This made it harder for them to understand how it was possible I would of had a finished music video by the deadline.
2. What did your audience identify as the strengths or your music video idea?
A strength my audience said about my music video idea was the fact that I was going to use a girl to go into the army instead of a boy, which subverted the conventions. Also the audience like the fact that, I was not just going to do a typical love music video, and that it was going to be based on love but non of the cast being mad at each other, but just wanting to do the best for each other, which you don't normally see.
3. What did the audience identify as a improvement?
My audience identified a few  improvement I could of done. One of them was the fact that how I was going to show the girl was in the army. Before the feedback I was just going to show her in a army costume, but my audience said I could also show her leaving her boyfriend, by getting on a train with a back-pack in a full costume, to connote that she has actually gone to the army and left him. Also another improvement in term of practicality my audience said was that fact that I was going to film everyday apart from Saturday. They started that it was going to be to much for me and the cast, and that I should have some day of from filing, so that I don't get tired and bored.
4. What changed would you have to your music video concept based on the feedback?
Based on the feedback I would change the creativity of my music video by choosing more unique locations instead of a park and bedroom, to make my music video less boring. In term of practicality I would, have to think of a different location instead of the London eye due to the fact that it will cost to much money to for a film inside it. In term of technicality I would change the amount of day I film per week, I would give me and my cast more time of, so we don't get bored and tired of filming.
